AEP, Blog, and Fall Break Fun

Writer: KarinsaKarinsa

Let's hit all the topics this time: work, family, fun, and more!

If you haven't noticed, AEP is here. AEP is the Annual Enrollment Period that allows Medicare beneficiaries to change their prescription drug plan or Medicare advantage plan each year. This is the best opportunity to review your current coverage, health changes/concerns from the past year that may affect your coverage, and time to catch up with me, your Medicare specialist and friend!

If you do not have an insurance agent dedicated to helping you, then please call me (Indiana and Ohio residents only at this time). I want to help you. I want you to understand your coverage and plan benefits. My Medicare services are provided at no additional cost to you.

Enough about that (if you need more info about AEP, refer to the last blog or call me). This blog will cease for just a bit during AEP. I know I've said it already, but the end of the year can be the busiest time for an insurance agent, especially those assisting in Medicare. During AEP and the holidays, I will stop posting here. Don't worry - I will resume in January 2023 keeping this blog focused on business and personal fulfillment. This blog is one opportunity to show you a bit of my life as a Medicare specialist insurance agent, a small business owner, a mom, and a servant to others. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy sharing my triumphs and tribulations.

End business section. Start personal...

LOL. I have shared that I enjoy working while on vacation. This fall break my family came down to Siesta Key, Florida. Fall Break consisted of 2 e-learning days for my boys, but that gave me great opportunity to work on continuing education credits, answer/return calls and emails, and get some busy work finalized before AEP truly kicks in October 15th. Each morning we got up, worked a bit, and then planned for a day together. This vacation has been productive, relaxing, and most importantly quality time with Cade, Cole, and my mom.

I know you want to know what we did while down here.... OK maybe you don't but I want to share what my family enjoys doing!

We had 5 full days down here in sunny Florida. We alternated between beach and pool days. Day 1 at the beach, the boys and I were just wading in the Gulf when people 'awed' and were clearly looking at something out into the water. My heart stopped for one second when I saw the dorsal fin, but quickly realized it was a dolphin (plus no one else seemed worried). 3 maybe 4 dolphins were just swimming past, but they decided to put on a little show; a few dives, flips, and twists, and off they went! On our last beach day, Cole and I were finally able to jump and boogie board some waves. The day was overcast and a bit drizzly, and not many people were in the water. We were jumping, splashing, and having a good time when out of the water came a nose... a manatee! OH MY! If I were to jump the coming wave, I would have landed on the manatee's back!!! I'm serious, like less than 5 feet away!! Again, my heart stopped but then the excitement kicked in. I've been coming to this location since before I was 2, and I have never seen anything like this. These are definitely memories we all share that will (hopefully) last forever!

We also went to an Escape Room; twice because it was that awesome. Cade is extremely smart if you didn't know, and he loves puzzles and games. This was Cole's first time for an Escape Room, and now he is hooked. We escaped both rooms, but better than that we all worked together as a family, laughing, and truly enjoying each other's company.

Then to relax a bit on the water, we went out to see dolphins, birds, and to scavenger hunt on Koko Island. The boys and I tried to hike around the island, but our path was blocked. We did find a few cool seashells, but no pirates! HAHA!

Finally, we enjoyed eating together around a table each night for dinner and having longer conversations than usual.

Vacations can still be productive but are definitely slower paced and more intentional about the time and energy we give each other.

OK, well you can check out a few of our photos below, and if you want more details about anything in this blog, just message me.

I'm glad to be back in Indiana, finalizing client files for the upcoming week of appointments. I truly love my career, but I'm grateful I can take time away to recharge with my family when needed!

Peace and blessings,

Krin
